WIMAX TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
Introduction
This objective of this guide is to assist customers with basic level trouble shooting required while using any of the Spectranet Wireless Access Devices (EazeeOR Surf n Talk) with your WiFi devices.
No Signals.
- Relocate device within room or your place of use to get better signalreception.
- In case of a CPE, place it at an elevated position or near open area like window.
Eazee (USB device) is Not Installing.
- Ensure you have ADMINISTRATOR rights for your device.
- Ensure Auto run feature for USB is allowed on your device.
- Operating system on computer should be compatible (Windows XP,Vista,Win 7).
- Remove and reconnect USB on a different USB port
- Run AUTO installation feature as soon as your device recognizes Eazee
USB device Not Recognised.
- Check USB port on computer to ensure there is no damage
- Check dongle to ensure there is no physical damage
- Remove and reconnect USB on a different USB port
- Run AUTO installation feature as soon as your device recognizes Eazee
Unable to open web pages or Remote computer not responding
- Ensure Internet access subscription chargeshave been paid
- Check Signal Levels On CPE check numbers of Signal Bars Lighted – 3+ will allow you to surf
- Firewalls/ Antivirus settings should be checked because they block incoming traffic
WLAN (WIFI) is not available (CPE)
- Check and confirm WLAN is enabled on CPE and the light is ON
- Ensure WiFi is enabled on your device
- Refresh list of Wireless Network Connections on your device to search for “Spectranet 4G�?
- If the connection is still not available, open http://192.168.1.1 on Internet Explorer.
- Select Basic,
- Click on WLAN
- Change SSID to any name of choice
- Click Apply
- Switch off your device and CPE and re-start the two.
- Check for new SSID (CPE Name) within list of Wireless Connections on your device
WLAN available but devices cant connect/ network key not accepted.
- Check CAPS Lock. Passwords are case sensitive, ensure you are typing is correctly.
- Default password is the first 10 characters of your CPE’s MAC ID
- Switch Off your CPE and Refresh List of Wireless Network Connections
- If you see Spectranet 4G in list of available wireless connection, we suggest change SSID of your CPE
Unable to change WLAN name.
- Open Internet explorer and type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar.
- Enter username as user (small letters)
- Enter password (first 6 characters of the MAC ID - its case sensitive).
- Select the option called “Basic�?
- Select “WLAN�?,
- Change SSID to any name of your choice.
LAN connection does not work
- Check LAN cable to ensure there is no damage, Change cable if any doubts
- Check LAN connection for the presence of static IP,if present disable and use automatic
- Shut down and restart computer
Slow browsing speed
- Check Signal Strength – Signal bars on CPE or Signal percentage on USB
- If signal is low relocate devicefor better signal strength, especially near to an open space like window
- Try using a different Internet browser
Limited or no Internet connectivity on device
- Ensure Network key (password) is entered correctly (Default - First 10 characters of MAC ID)
